Chinook are highly sought after because they do not feed until the spawn in the fall which means they have a high fat and oil content. Chinook are the most sought after fish in the PNW. As the gorgeous summer fades into fall, the Kings start their upstream migration. One of the most popular fisheries in the world can be found at the mouth of the mighty Columbia River can see numbers of fish over the 1 million mark.
